Guess I didn't make myself completely clear. My previous entry was what I RECOMMEND, not what I usually end up doing. I do store the bikes in the garage, fill the tank, and add stabilizer. I recommend removing the battery, but a lot of times I end up just going out to the garage and charging it every month or so. I'll probably be moving the bikes around all winter getting to other stuff in my messy garage so they don't get put up on a stand. I try to change the oil before storing them for the winter but deciding when to put them in storage is the problem. The weather is great here at the moment and I'm riding almost every day and most years I do some riding in February when we get a warm spell so when does the "storage season" start??? What I usually end up doing is to keep the oil reasonably fresh and change it in the spring. I keep the 5 gallon can in the garage full of gas treated with a stabilizer and when the weather is too cold and the snow too deep to ride, I fill the tank with treated gas and call it good.
